Education

The Fine Arts Museums' School Programs enable students to make connections and develop an understanding of art in both creative and historical contexts. The Fine Arts Museums' are sites of lifelong learning, featuring dynamic family programming, K-12 school initiatives, programs for colleges and universities, and ensuring full access for visitors disabilities.

Conservation

Conservation, which encompasses the treatment, preservation, and technical study of works of art, is integral to the mission of the Fine Arts Museums. Four specialized conservation departments—objects, paintings, paper, and textiles—are devoted to the care of the permanent collections.

Public Programs

The Fine Arts Museum's public programs engage the people of the Bay Area in community-based arts and scholarship through Friday Nights programming, special lectures, and public access to events with local artists, musicians, and featured arts organizations.
